Palma del Sol Medical Spa of Fresno offers Botox cosmetic injections as part of our skin rejuvenation services. The use of Botox treatments can dramatically reduce the effects of wrinkles on the face and lips. As with all treatments at Palma del Sol, your visit begins with a complimentary consultation with one of our nurses who will determine the optimum number of units of Botox needed to achieve the desired result. General Information

Botox is a brand name for Botulinum Toxin Type A. It is isolated from bacteria called Clostridium Botulinum. Botox relaxes muscles by harmlessly blocking nerve impulses. Once the muscles are relaxed, the overlying skin becomes smoother creating a natural and relaxed appearance. Results can be seen after a week. No recovery time is needed for this procedure.

Brow Lift Alternative

Frequent frowning causes wrinkles and creases between the eyebrows on our faces. These marks are called “Glabellar Lines”. Botox can dramatically reduce even the deepest wrinkle between your eyebrows. A few tiny injections relax the muscles between your eyebrows that cause lines to form. The effect can last up to four months.

Botox Post Procedure for Pain Management / Taking care of the skin you're in!

There is little discomfort associated with Botox injections but ice packs can be applied for a short time afterwards. Any swelling will resolve within a few hours. Other instructions are as follows:

You should make facial expressions for the first couple of hours after receiving your injection.

You should not exercise strenuously or sit in a hot tub or sauna for the first 24 hours. Otherwise, there are no specific aftercare instructions.

The effects of Botox® are not immediate. They are generally seen by the fourth day.

The effects maximize at 7-10 days.

Botox® will not work in about 1% of the general population. Some people experience a mild headache within the first 24 hours, which responds to Tylenol. The effects of Botox® generally last for about 14 weeks.

Botox Creams

Do not be swayed by advertisements that state a topically applied cream will produce the same effect as Botox. The only product that smoothes those wrinkles effectively and reliably is Botox!
